Wicked

Wicked yesterday!! AHHHH!!! It was absolutely amazing!! The set was amazing, the costumes were amazing, the voices were amazing. the dancing was amazing, everything was superific! :-D We were in row T of the orchestra seating. They were absolutely awesome seats. The first half of the show ended with "Defying Gravity." What could be better? Seriously?!!? I actually teared up during that number. Seeing Elphaba flying above the stage was awesome. She lifted up at least 20 feet into the air! Then there were the lights that showered her while she was up in the air, making everything seem so magical. I left the theatre shaking with excitement. I had to call Ashely right away and tell her all about the first half. I didn't tell her about the second half becuase there were 2 twists that I have to make sure to keep a secret until she sees the show. 1: The wizard is Elphaba's father, and 2: Elphaba is alive at the end! She didn't really melt, but went into a hole in the ground. Of course, no one but Fiyero can know about this or nothing will ever settle in Oz. And Dorothy didn't kill her...just to set things straight. The musical was funny, witty, and overall, just a wonderific experience. I'm excited to do my Wicked. I am going to make my own Grimmerie. I will do each character, each song, and all of the major highlights of the story. THe entire story of the Wizard of Oz was told. The secret of the wizard, the story of how the ruby red slippers got red, how the tin man, lion, and scarecrow became how they are today, the story behind the flying monkeys, everything. I can't believe that I actually got to see Wicked on Broadway!! It is so exciting! "As Long As You're Mine" was also fantabulous. They were so into the music and the words, as if they were really living it out! The talent was overwhelming. Well, I'm off for now. I have to eat before leaving for the airport again. Flight takes off at 5:50. Let's hope that this time it actually leaves as scheduled!!
